Aishwarya Srinivas

Aishwarya Srinivas has been engaged and inspired by Carnatic music since her childhood. Born in a family of ardent carnatic music rasikas, Aishwarya was initiated into the world of music at the tender age of three. She performed her first concert at the age of twelve and since then has performed more than seven hundred concerts at prestigious sabhas across India.

 

After being trained for over 12 years under Sangeetha Kalanidhi Smt. D. K. Pattammal and Sangeetha Kala Acharya Smt. Sulochana Pattabhiraman and then by Sangeetha Kalanidhi Shri R. K. Srikantan and Sangeetha Kala Acharya Shri P. S. Narayanaswamy she is now being guided by Vidwan Sri R.K.Sriramkumar. 

 

In addition to several prizes in competitions conducted by prestigious sabhas like the Madras Music Academy, Nagarda Gana Sabha, ISKON, Indian Fine Arts Society and other sabhas, she has won

  • Was awarded for the Prestigious Yuva Purandara Award from the Indiranagar Sangeetha Sabha, Bangalore in 2019.

  • Was awarded the prestigious SVN Rao award for excellence Smt.Sudha Murthy, Chairman INfosys Foundation at Sree Rama Seva Mandali, Chamrajpet, Bangalore for the year 2018.

  • Was awarded the prestigious Youth Achievers award for Vocational Excellence conferred by Rotary Club, Guindy for the year 2017-18

  • Was awarded the Isai Chemmal Award conferred by Trinity Arts Association for the year 2017-18

  • Was awarded the prestigious Yuva Kala Bharathi Award conferred by Bharat Kalachar for the year 2016-17

  • Has recorded album for leading label Gita Cassettes (Sri Ranga Vibho comprising compositions in praise of Sri Ranganatha of Srirangam).

  •  A graded artiste of AIR

  • Performed a tribute to MS Subbulakshmi- Fund Raiser for Karna Vidya Foundation , a project by Rotary Club, Coromandel, 2016

  • Rendered Ramalingaswamy Arutpas as part of the Thiruvarutpa Archival project, tuned by Sri P.S.Narayansamy for the archives, 2015

  • Has been awarded a scholarship for excellence in Carnatic music provided by the Ministry of Culture to young artistes, since 2013

  •  Was part of the Thiruvasagam Symphony project of Maestro Ilayaraja, 2008

  • Was awarded the Best Artiste Award for classical music by Stella Maris College, 2010.

  • Was selected as the first among the top ten young singers by Ananda Vikatan in 2006

  • Recipient of the Best Disciple Award scholarship awarded by the D. K. Jayaraman foundation for 2000.

  • Is an empanelled artiste of the South Zone Cultural Center.

  • Was selected to perform at the Madras Music Academy, Spirit of Youth Series, 2004.

  • Has been selected as Talented Young Artist by the Tamil Nadu Iyal Isai Nataka Manram for the year 2004, under its Young Talent Promotion Scheme.

  • Was a recipient of Government of India’s Center for Cultural Resources and Training (CCRT) Scholarship upon recommendation from Sri Semmangudi Srinivasa Iyer.

  • Was enlisted Economic Times Young Achievers List in the year 2002

  • Was selected to attend a twelve-day national cultural workshop at Hyderabad, organized by CCRT and presented a solo performance in the presence of the CEO, Prasar Bharati.

  • Was the presenter of Thyagaraja Pancharatna Kritis Program premiered in Doordardhan under the direction of Smt. Sulochana Pattabhiraman,

  • Won the trophy for excellence in music from Lions club, 1998. 

  • Won the first place in the national level devotional songs contest held by ISKON.

  • Has performed at prestigious Sabhas all over India and has over a 1000 concert to her credit and is a regular performer in the December Music Season in Chennai

 

Endowed with perfect sruti-aligned voice with a wide range and clarity, she renders krithis with patanthara shuddham .She specialises in performing  thematic concerts based on themes like RTP concerts,  Thiruppugazh , Patriotic songs ,compositions of a specific Vaggeyakaras like Bharathiyar , Gopalakrishna Bharathi  and Shyama Sastri .  She also has a wide repertoire of varied works of different composers ranging from koteeswaraiyer to bhadrachala ramadasa, having learnt them from gurus belonging to the composers’ shishya paramparas themselves. She aims to carry forward the lofty legacy of her Gurus and the commitment with which they have imparted valuable lessons.

She also has a brilliant academic record to her credit with proficiency prizes for commerce and Sanskrit for three years in succession from Stella Maris College. She is a qualified Charted Accountant (CA) and a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA).
